In 2021, in preparation for a new Broadway production of a re-imagined Bob Fosse's Dancin', she was asked to re-create and reproduce Bob Fosse's original choreography from 1978's Dancin' (with special attention to recapturing Fosse's distinctive style), and then teach it to the new Broadway cast. It is scheduled to open at the Music Box Theater in March 2023.
Christine performed as a member of the famed Radio City Music Hall Rockettes and danced on Broadway in Tony-award winning productions by Bob Fosse. She is a nationally-recognized dance teacher and coach, and her image has graced the walls of nearly every dance studio in the U.S. and Canada.
About
She began her professional career after training at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. A summer residency at Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts under the direction of Gemze de Lappe was followed by a tour of Disney on Parade. She arrived in New York in 1974 and performed with the Luigi Jazz Dance Company.
In 1975 Christine joined the line of the famed Radio City Music Hall Rockettes. She left the Rockettes in 1977 when Fosse cast her in Dancin', and joined them once again for a tour with Peter Allen and the Rockettes in 1982.
Christine had the unique opportunity of working with Bob Fosse for several years in two productions - first as an original cast member in his Broadway show Dancin’ (1978 - 82) and once again in his Broadway revival and national tour of his hit Sweet Charity (1986 - 88)
She returned to her Broadway roots in 1999 when she was featured in the first national tour of the Tony Award-winning musical Fosse, directed by Ann Reinking and Richard Maltby, (and coached by Gwen Verdon), including the show's tour of Japan in 2001.
Christine is a dance teacher and coach who has been featured in Dance Magazine (Nov. '98 and Sept. '22), and Dance Teacher (March '23), and has served as artist-in-residence and taught master classes at colleges and universities around the country, including the Cincinnati College Conservatory, Stephens College, Interlochen, Kansas State University, University of Kansas, and UMKC. She served on the faculty at the Kansas City Ballet School, the University of Kansas and the Verdon-Fosse Legacy.
Her film credits include ANNIE and A Chorus Line, and her television credits include: guest artist with the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater Workshop PBS Special; specials with Bob Hope and Placido Domingo, Night of 100 Stars, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Tony Awards; music videos with Billy Joel and Barry Manilow. She was the spokesperson for the promotion of Danskin/Esmark's six-part PBS TV series, "The Magic of Dance hosted by Dame Margot Fonteyne."
She continues to be a model and spokesperson who has done dozens of national television commercials and print ad's including Crystal Lite, Suplical, Dr. Pepper, Tampax, "I Love NY" campaign, Panisonic, McDonald's, Hallmark, Sprint, O.C.Tanner, Crum & Forrester, LeBatt Beer, WPIX-TV, Vidal Sassoon Jeans and Sprite.
